The image was inspired by both the cat's name, and by the Sailor Moon manga where Ami says something along the lines of "That cat suddenly fell out of the sky. I thought it might be an angel" (though in Japanese, of course).
I tried to give it a very ethereal look with the translucent blue wings and the ripples of shining, blue water.
The fur, especially around the head, was surprisingly easy to paint; much more so than drawing it would have been because I could do it in layers.
Really needs something in the upper right corner to balance it, though.
Such a pretty kitty - the wings are great. I love how they're semi-transparent - it's almost like they could just be a figment of one's imagination - or not. Maybe up in the corner where (she/he) is looking, you could put a bit of light, such as from a star or lamp or something? The face is just perfect! Very, very realistic. I think this is one of the best I've seen from you so far.

There is actually a bit of blue light in that corner of the actual painting, it just doesn't show up here. It's not enough, though. I think it needs to be some sort of object.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
